The golden rule in real estate is " Location, Location, Location". To me the same rule applies in the world of Wallbeds. It's 'Wallbeds n More, Wallbeds n More, Wallbeds n More". Specifically the Wallbeds n More store in Plano, Texas. Both the owner Hung Truong and Cheryl Mullins in sales/support went above and beyond in helping me out of a nightmare situation involving the purchase of a wallbed unit from a different vendor not far from their location in Plano Tx. - That vendor was Costco..... The Costco wallbed was less expensive and looked beautiful in the Costco photos - but that's where the nightmare began. 1) Costco only sells the beds online and they don't provide any customer support of any kind after the sale. 2) No assembly support - Due to liability issues Costco won't even recommend anyone to help you put the wallbed together and the Costco wallbed I purchased was difficult to assemble according to professional contractors I hired to do the installation. 3) Contacting and Contracting someone to put it together is left totally up to you. Once assembled, you're completely on your own as Costco does not provide any repair service should your wallbed not work properly as in my case. Costco's response for the problem I was experiencing was to simply return the 800 pound wallbed I had just paid contractors $400.00 to install. 4) Wallbed made out of the country.....The manufacturer of this Costco bed is located in Canada and they didn't have any technicians or repair shops in the USA & would not recommend or send someone from Canada to repair the bed due to the expense of travel. My wallbed was heavy and difficult to lift up into the wall frame . Manufacturer believed the problem to be in the pistons & mailed me replacement pistons that I had to change out myself. The problem remained and the bed stayed in the down position for 8 months (thus defeating the purpose of a wallbed - to save space) while countless phone calls and emails were exchanged in trying to figure out the problem. The last thing I wanted was for a family member or house guest to hurt themselves trying to lift up a heavy and defective bed. 5) Lesson Learned ! ...... The Costco wallbed was finally returned and my money reimbursed. The difference in price between Costco or any other wallbed vendor compared to Wallbed n More in Plano,Tx. is not worth the stress, anxiety, and frustration, not to mention the safety issue of an inferior made product. You get what you pay for - Lesson Learned ! 6) Wallbeds n More in Plano, Tx. - Hung Truong and Cheryl Mullins were aware of my situation and when the dust settled with Costco, I made my way straight to their store . Their product knowledge and professional and friendly attitude along with a great choice of wallbeds all made in the USA , all made of wood & not particle board, made it a no-brainer to purchase a beautiful Barrington wallbed unit that was installed by their own factory trained technicians. The fact that the wallbed is easy to pull down, a breeze to put back up and looks incredible is very satisfying. Knowing Wallbeds n More is here locally providing customer service and support in sales and repairs if necessary and not in a foreign country is a BIG PLUS in my book. 7) Avoid Mistakes and do it right the first time. YES, there's cheaper less expensive wallbeds out there , but you'll quickly realize you get what you pay for. If you're in the market for a quality Wallbed that not only looks good but functions properly and will last for years , I highly recommend you stop by and visit HUNG & Cheryl at Wallbeds n More in Plano, Tx. They'll take good care of you and your shopping experience will be a pleasant one. Take it from someone who's had a bad experience buying a wallbed based on Price Alone.....
